Hi all from Namibia. Just a quick note that I’ve posted a few photos in the Namibia folder. Internet is scarce. Namibia is beautiful beyond words. More words later.

Springbok is in Springbok! The last stop before crossing into Namibia tomorrow. A beautiful drive up from the Cape. Thanks to which I no longer fear the hill start. Shortly after setting out the traffic turned bumper to bumper on the mountainside up with abundant stops. Giving ample opportunity to master the art of the hill start. However, this new hill start prowess may also be due to the magical power of biltong. More research needed! Lol.

On a sad note the first travel casualty to report. The beloved and favourite, therefore only, pair of travel jeans have met their comeuppance. A snag and tear in a must inopportune location. As there is no steel in these buns, 3.0 Nylon and duct tape are my last hope for resuscitation. It maybe time to pronounce. Le sigh.

 

Thanks to South Africa 4×4 this is my home for the next few months. “Springbok” as he is affectionately called, and I are getting acquainted before we start for Namibia in the AM. Fingers crossed there are no hill starts on the journey ahead. I will no doubt be a master by the end, for now alas, hill start 1 – Springbok 0.
